How to apply

Organisations looking for funding support for a specific project or program can apply for funding via the online application form below.

We assess applications twice per year (in April and October).  Upcoming submission close dates are:

  • Friday 13 December 2024
  • Friday 18 April 2025

To be eligible to apply for grants an organisation must be an organisation with an ABN/ACN or an incorporated association (unincorporated bodies need to be auspiced by an incorporated body) within the local communities of Boroondara, Whitehorse, Monash and Yarra.

Applications are reviewed by the board and consideration is given to the need and if we can provide adequate funding for the need as outlined.

Assessment Criteria

Grants will be assessed against the following criteria: 

The program /project will :

  • satisfy a demonstrated need within the community.
  • increase access opportunities for specific special needs groups.
  • provide an opportunity for Inner East Support to promote its involvement with the specific project.

Grants will only be provided to support legal activities that are considered acceptable by normal community standards. Grants will not be provided for:

  • Projects where there is a more appropriate funding source.
  • Reimbursement of money already spent.
  • Political purposes or to political organisations or political advocacy groups.
  • Religious organisations seeking support for religious programs or events.
  • Projects/Programs that denigrate, exclude or offend sections of the community.

Acquittal Process

  • All grant recipients will be required to complete an acquittal form. This will provide us with an evaluation report on completion of the funded grant.
  • The acquittal will indicate how the funding was used and how successful each outcome was achieved or reasons why outcomes were not achieved.
